The conference opens its doors on Thursday, September 1st 2016 at 15:00. Registration is possible from 11:00. What follows are 3 days of lectures, panel discussions, workshops, round table discussions, worship services and Shiurim. It finishes on Sunday, September 4th 2016 at around 12:30.
A main focus of the conference will be remembering the legacy of Jewish women in Breslau/Wroclaw. A tour around the city will lead the participants to places where they lived and worked. The Jewish cemetery will be visited as well.
A range of talks will address the lives of Jewish women from Breslau/Wroclaw, for example women’s rights activist Paula Ollendorf (1860-1938), dancer Judith Berg (1912-1992), artist Clara Sachs (1862-1921) and philosopher Edith Stein (1891-1942), to name but a few.
Other topics that will be explored include Jewish women in Europe – past and present, Jewish tradition from a feminist perspective, Jewish education, sports, art and literature, capacity building and many more.
